My daughter has been suffering from sudden onset severe foot (toes and bottom of foot only) pain now for 4 weeks. She has had a weeks worth of antibiotics, and of steroids. Neither have helped the pain at all. With the pain she has had some swelling, redness that has switched between bright red when swollen, to ugly purple when not. Today she woke up and could not bend her big toe. The Rumatologist told me to take her to ER. all blood tests, including Lymes, have come back negative. They both claim it is Raynaud’s, but I have never heard of a Raynaud’s episode lasting for 4 weeks on end. Has anyone experienced, or does anyone know of, anything like this happening? It just doesn’t make sense to me!
This does not sound like primary Raynaud’s which goes away with warming the digit. I hope the rheumatologist is following her closely. A connective tissue disease can be difficult to diagnose. It can take time for blood work to become positive.
I hope we hear from you again with an update.
