Hi, I’m Charlotte. I was diagnosed with Raynauds Phenomenon earlier this year. I’ve always had painful & cold hands and feet ever since I can remember but I gave up a sport I’d been doing for most of my life last September and from there I was backwards and forwards up the doctors. I live in England and I’m 23. I was tested for vasculitis and then Lupus and numerous other things that all came back clear. I was then referred to a rhuemologist who confirmed my diagnosis of Raynauds.
I was on nifedipine but had a bad reaction and I’m currently on Lartosan potassium 50mg but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. The doctors are regularly testing me though as they are unsure of why I have it and want to find out if there is anything else. I have recently been watching my feet and after a warm shower and sitting in one evening wearing slippers to keep my feet warm my feet feel like they’re getting an attack but instead go incredibly hot, although they feel cold to others, they go bright red up to about halfway up my foot and are itchy, swollen and tingly but it isn’t chilblains as I’ve suffered with them in the past. Someone suggested it may be erythromelalgia as this can be linked to Raynauds but i’m unsure. I’m seeing my doctor again on Thursday.
I suffer with migraines and I drop things all the time. It’s incredibly frustrating and especially as i’m renting an old 1800s house at the moment which is always cold, so that’s not helping matters so I’m looking forward to moving & having a look through this group to get lots of advice! 🙂
