Hi everyone! Well I'm new here so a quick 'about me'
I'm 18. I was diagnosed with RP when I was 13. I had been suffering with it in school for 6-9 months prior. Since 2010, I've had nerve damage as a result of my Raynaud's. I have a hard time feeling the difference of hot and cold with my hands. For me it affects my hands, wrists, feet, nose, and ears. Most damage is in my hands. I burn myself without realizing it with anything from tap water to food. Ice and snow are my enemy. I live outside of Boston, MA so cold comes every year. Summer isn't much of a relief either. I swell in the heat to the point where I cannot move my joints. I also have a severe Vitamin D dificiency. This causes joint and muscle pains mostly in my legs and back. I had to sign out of my high school because of both of these. I just recently graduated high school online. My main question is, with severe Raynaud's (just about anything at all can start an attack) what kind of career could I try to break into? Or for the sake of my hands/feet/ears/nose should I apply for disability? Any tips for coping and protection are always welcomed. Thanks! ------------------------- Diagnosed in 2007. Severe since 2010. |
