Hi to all,
This is my first time on here some bear with me please.. A few years ago i had an operation on both of my feet on the 4th and 5th toes, to straighten them... at my follow up i notice that my lower legs and feet where always purple unless they where up and above my heart.. the surgeon said that i had mild raynaulds and it will go after 12 months... Unfortunately it has not gone away and i now have it all over and it is getting worse... if i sit on a sofa with my legs down my feet start going through all the colour changes then to black.. im always trying to keep warm... if lean on my arm after 5 mins its gone dead.... if my head arent blue/ purple they are burn red and swallon... had a few beers the other night and took my boots off and you would have thought i had burnt my legs... cant walk to far as i become breathless... god i would be here for days listing all that is going on ... and to be honest i ve had enough and so have my children... I can hardly do the things i love and enjoy as it takes all my energy up then im wiped out for 3 days... i ve never had this before i had my op and what to know why this has happened and if anyone else has the same thing.. so to go on hope this message its all over the place ... cheers for now dreadlock fairy xxx |

Hello there
From the colour your feet go and the breathlessness etc. it doesn't sound like it's raynauds. I've had it since I was 11 (I'm 33 now) and have all the classic symptoms so have had a while to understand it. It sounds to me like the surgeon's bullsh*tting you and could have done something to you - I'd speak to another independent doctor if I were you, get your condition investigated properly and see what it is... Docs are nothing but humans with opinions at the end of the day, and they do get things wrong. But unlike humans they rarely admit it!!! It could be related to the surgery or a completely unrelated condition, either way it's not raynauds of you ask me. And it sounds like the sooner you get some help the better. Good luck and take care. |

Oh and although the cause of primary raynauds is unclear, I don't think it or secondary can be caused by injury... Unless I'm mistaken. Definitely get that looked at by someone who knows what they're talking about.
