Welcome to the forum, sharonstewart1.
It's good that you will be seeing a rheumatologist for a possible cause for your raynaud's symptoms, as various tests will be run to see if there's an underlying connective tissue disease such as Lupus, Scleroderma, Rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and so on. The first three diseases I mention are the most common cause for having secondary Raynaud's. Yours may also be just Primary (without an underlying cause). I'm not sure if your PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) would be a contributing factor since it does affect hormone production in the body, for instance taking oral contraception medication can bring on an attack. Your other two genetic disorders are not known to have an association with Raynaud's, but one is vascular in nature and could be responsible. The appointment with the rheumatologist will hopefully shed some more light on the cause of your symptoms. Please let us know what they find out. Karen ------------------------- I will persevere & live strong. Secondary Raynaud's to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Edited: 05/08/2012 at 09:24 AM by Karen |
