I am a 40 year old male who has had obvious symptoms of Raynauds for two years. The more I read the more I wonder how long I have had this condition.
I have coldness, pain, and color changes in feet, hands, ears, and have begun to have them in sensitive areas as well as tingling lips. I work in a high stress job which exposes me to the elements. As a result my symptoms flare and anxiety has been horrible at times. Have consulted primary doctor, rheumatologist, and psychiatrist but none will recommend disability until it seems like I have lost all my digits or become suicidal. Has anybody else dealt with this?
Also looking for a stop to the anxiety. Any advice? Feel like I am digging a hole for myself I can’t get out of.
I know how hard it can be (as others on this forum do) to try to get some relief. Other than possibly seeking another doctor’s opinion, you might try asking your physician for a trial of medications called calcium channel blockers. There’s even reports that the the drug, Prozac, when taken in small doses can dilate the blood vessels and prevent attacks, as well as acting as an anti-anxiety. Prozac may not work for everyone, as it didn’t with my attacks, but we’re all different.
