It’s not always men who want the thermostat set to an Antarctica  level with air conditioning. I’ve been in homes and other locations where women and businesses keep the temperature down in the 60s. I think some people think their home must be the same year-round and if their heat in is the 60s in the winter so too must be their cold in the summer. I have a tenant who grew up in Britain where they don’t know what heat is and keeps her home in the 50s in the winter and the low 60s in summer. The unit for their air-conditioner is underneath my bedroom window (a location due to the homes being so close and I dreadfully regret now) and it drives me nuts as it seems to run non-stop, even when the outside temperature is in the 60s. I have another tenant who runs their window unit when it’s not needed. I know too many people who never turn off the units all summer and run around in their homes in sweats and jackets.  That seems insane to me. That’s the point of summer! It’s a time to FINALLY get warm and enjoy the sun on your back and feel comfortable and WARM for the first time in months.  I’ve also been told lately that the Raynaud’s is also somehow associated with the fibromyalgia I have.
