It’s been a tough season so far, and we know fellow Frosties are searching for products that will keep them warm and cozy.  Here are our Hot Products for Winter 2015 with a few new discoveries we haven’t yet tried, but appear to have good potential to come to the aid of Raynaud’s sufferers:

Astec Self-Heating Insoles – We’re usually skeptical of products labeled “far-infrared” as we’ve yet to find a winner or hear from someone who has successfully tried one of these products.  But we’ve recently seen that Hot Products for Winter 2015the Raynaud’s and Scleroderma Association in the UK (RSA) is promoting a self-heating insole from Astec International that is getting positive reviews from their members.  The product is designed to use the body’s natural energy to generate and reflect heat.  The insoles are made of a patented DISCRHEAT fleece material which claims to absorb electromagnetic field energy and warms the feet without using an external power source.  They are available for sale on the RSA’s web site for $38 (£24.99) but if you use the discount code AS15OFF, the price comes down to just over $30.  If you try them, please let us know about your experience! IonGear Heated GlovesHammacher Schlemmer just rated these as their Best Heated Gloves this year based on a combination of heat generated and comfort.  On the highest setting, the HS Institute claims these gloves generated twice the level of warmth as others they tested.  On the lower setting, they lasted a full 12 hours.  Many heated gloves are tough to maneuver in, but these are said to have soft Thinsulate® lining and a flexible outer layer for increased dexterity (but from the picture, you wouldn’t know it – they still look pretty clunky!).  At $199.95, they’d better deliver! (Note:  No longer available from Hammacher Schlemmer, but found them on Amazon for $137!)

Hot Products for Winter 2015Trans4m™ Thermal Plus™ Run Glove –  Michael on Facebook shared these running gloves with us.  The versatile design lets you change the level of coverage – from full mittens, to mitts with an open thumb, to fingerless gloves, to wrist warmers.  In addition, there’s a zippered pocket to add disposable hot packs for more warmth, or to stash keys, ID’s, etc. during your run.  They are available online from Amphipod or at many outdoor retailers for $45.

If you try any of the above products, we’d love your feedback, and please share your new product finds with us. Write to, post them in our Discussion Forum or on our Facebook Fan page.
