Ronni ShulmanThe Raynaud’s community lost a strong advocate this week – Ronni Shulman (Mallozzi) who passed away from complications associated with scleroderma, a serious autoimmune disorder to which her Raynaud’s was a secondary ailment.

Ronni was a charter member of the Raynaud’s Association’s Board of Directors and our Vice Chair since the organization was incorporated nearly 25 years ago.  That’s a lot of years of endless volunteer energy and support.

Ronni spearheaded many of of the Raynaud’s Association’s efforts to help patients gain awareness that their painful symptoms have a medical explanation.  She personally interviewed fellow Frosties for our Member Spotlight posts, composed our press releases, proofread our newsletters and blog posts, was a sounding board for fundraising campaigns and so much more.  And she did it all while suffering from severe symptoms of scleroderma.

If you want to get an idea of Ronni’s creativity and humor, check out last year’s blog post on The True Story of Rudolph the So-Called “Red Nosed” Reindeer. What an imagination!

Ronni made a huge contribution to our organization with her time, her energy and amazing spirit that no one will be able to replace, and we’ll greatly miss her.  The Raynaud’s community is stronger for the huge contributions Ronni Shulman made to the Association and to the millions of Raynaud’s sufferers lives that she touched with her warm heart.

If you’d like to pay tribute to Ronni’s efforts, you can say thank you with a memorial contribution in her name to our organization.
